The story is all about the relationship between the father and his son. Belonging to different ideologies, their way of perceiving not only life but themselves is what sets them apart.
Yet there is the association of blood. The situations through which they pass, shape their consciousness thus formulating the essence of strangeness in dealing each other. Even the death of the protagonist's father tries to be the turning point but the people around cement the same strangeness rather than diluting it.
