Big cities have invaded the common villages. With the passage of time they will dissolve the richness of the rural life and barter them for petty values. This is what has been the epicenter of the short story named 'Waris' which is written by one of the most famous writers Talwinder Singh.
An old man shifts in the city to stay with his son, but misses the soulful memories which resides in the village from where he actually comes from. After the death of the old man, his son finds himself stuck in the dilemma as to where is he suppose to cremate his father, whether in city where he has his own circle or in the village where the soul of his father actually resides.
