Penn State and James Franklin kept their eyes forward and pounded the rock, eventually beating Illinois 30-13. Illinois Football put up a great effort on defense, but 5 offensive turnovers, 4 of them being interceptions, proved too much for Bret Bielema and his roster to overcome. Illinois defensive lineman Jer'Zhan Newton wreaked havoc on Penn State's offensive line, forcing several pressures and ending his day with 6 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 blocked field goal. In spite of his efforts, the rest of Illinoi's defense got tired because of the Fighting Illini's lack of production on offense. Meanwhile, Penn State's offense made no turnovers and rushed for 2 touchdowns. Their defense also dominated, forcing 5 turnovers, 3 sacks, and several quarterback pressures. The Nittany Lions had one of the best performances of Week 3. In my analysis of this game, I think we will learn more about Penn State Football when they host Iowa this coming Saturday. l Make sure to comment so I can interact with you and answer any questions you have!
