Welcome to the fiftieth Torah and Haftarah reading Ki Tavo (when you enter). I must confess to being excited given that the fall festivals comprising the feast of Trumpets, the feast of atonement, and the feast of Tabernacles are close to being celebrated in a symbolic and literal sense. With these celebrations in mind, I have chosen to focus the topic of this episode on the beginning verses of Deuteronomy 26, which speak to us about the feast of the first fruit, which in Hebrew is called Shavout. I have given some insight concerning this festival in an earlier episode titled Shavuot and the Freedom of 50.
