Description

This week’s episode examines the theme of prosperity through obedience. Of interest is the word which is translated prosper in Deuteronomy chapter 29 verse 9. This word in the Hebrew is sakal, and in Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries, is logged as H7919. You may be surprised to find that the word prosper, as used in the text is not limited to speaking about the getting, and consumption of material goods which is considered to be of great value among many people even today. On the contrary, the word prosper speaks about a person’s ability to act in a wise and reasonable manner whatever the situation may be. An understanding of this word and how it is used enables the student of the Scripture appreciate Yehoshua Messiah’s statements about not laying much confidence in an abundance of material acquisitions that would soon fade away. In line with this understanding, I shall speak less of my own thoughts and allow the word of truth speak to you as it should do.
