Got to get tough! .....if you want to finish this flame-out of an action film. Because this one is a labor to get through, but now you know... and knowing, is half the battle.

Joe: the Rise of Cobra from 2009, you will get the learned perspective of G.I. Joe subject matter expert Mike Winfrey! Mike has been an active G.I. Joe collector for some time, and as well as being extremely familiar with the toy, he is deeply acquainted with the established lore of the comic books and cartoon series!
So what does all of that have to do with informing the analysis on today's movie?!
Not much!
Because whatever studio executive behind this train wreck that thought Baroness and Duke should have a casual love triangle with Destro, that may or may not occasionally involve Storm Shadow, but absolutely triggers Cobra Commander's protective big brother syndrome, probably needs to go back and watch another episode of the cartoon.
That sentence, by the way, makes complete sense if you have actually seen this movie, and if you have not, then you are in for a wild ride.
Try not to think too hard watching this one: we not only don't recommend, it might actually be harmful to your brain. And now you know.
And once again: knowing... is half the battle.
