This episode’s guest is Lisa Van Wyk.
For the past decade and a bit she’s been leading storytelling, communication and content strategy and creative campaigning for international human rights and relief NGOs and non-profits.
She specializes in developing ethical, creative and relevant communications in diverse (and sometimes dangerous or difficult) cultural and social/economic contexts.
This has included written story across digital and offline spaces, documentary filmmaking, photographic exhibitions, radio and community theatre.
Sh has also worked as a trainer in the fields of storytelling , media and information literacy and digital safety, facilitating courses and workshops with activist and non-profit organisations, educators and community organisers across Africa, Asia and LAC.
And lastly, Lisa has also spoken at conferences organised by UNESCO and MIT, discussing the ways AI might affect the way we use, think about and relate to original and synthetic content.
Projects:
At the moment she is leading communications for two global campaigns, leading AI transformation discussions with the organisation, and developing and facilitating courses about AI and ethics for UNESCO, and looking to extend this training into education, activist and creative spaces
