The space domain has long been looked to as the “final frontier,” inspiring by hope and dread depending on what kind of sci-fi you like. And while space in both fiction and nonfiction is a source of deep wonder and interest to people as they contemplate the future, it's very, very, VERY relevant for those individuals and organizations tasked with keeping America safe from adversaries in the present.
My guest today spends a lot of his time thinking about the space domain and its interaction with other domains of national security. Jim Borders is a chief intelligence engineer at the MITRE Corporation, one of several Federally Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs) spread across the country who are tasked with helping the government anticipate and prepare for the future.
