We’ve seen Florida's tax-free weekend for back-to-school and the disaster-preparedness sales tax holiday, but now Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a bill that begins a new tax free holiday called “freedom week.” The so-called “Freedom Week” makes buying tickets for 2021 music concerts, sporting events, movies, museum visits, state parks, and buying gym memberships tax-free from July 1 to July 7, 2021.  House Bill 7061 also says that buying boating and water activity supplies, camping supplies, fishing supplies, and general outdoor supplies will be tax-free during the sales tax holiday dubbed Freedom Week.  According to state lawmakers, the goal of the new tax holiday is to help Floridians return to normal activities after a challenging 2020.  State economists projected that the “Freedom Week” sales tax holiday will save $54.7 million for shoppers. The Florida Senate issued a press release that goes over the details of exactly what and how much is sales tax-free. https://www.flsenate.gov/Media/PressR...
