Description

Self-control is the ninth and last fruit of the Spirit. The Greek word for self-control is 'egkratia' which means mastery of self. The Hebrew equivalent means to have authority over your spirit.

Why is self-control necessary? Proverbs 25:28 (NASB95) says, "Like a city that is broken into and without walls is a man who has no control over his Spirit." When the city has no walls, it will be prone to plunder, so it will not progress. So kung wala kang self control, madali kang lokohin and you will not prosper and you will have no peace.

Today, the goal of most people is to change the world, and they want to change it based on what is right in their own eyes. There is a maxim that says, β€œYesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I change myself.”

The greatest accomplishment you can achieve is to master yourself because when you do, the Lord will use you to improve His world.
