Robert De Niro plays perhaps one of his most memorable and eccentric characters in Martin Scorsese's The King of Comedy. Rupert Pupkin is a super annoying man obsessed with becoming a famous stand-up comic. So much so that he begins to stalk successful TV talk show host Jerry Langford (played marvellously by Jerry Lewis) in an attempt to get on his show.
