Description

Megalopolis is the long-gestating passion project from legendary director Francis Ford Coppola, who personally financed the film’s reported $120 million budget after decades of development limbo. Starring Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf and Giancarlo Esposito, among other Hollywood greats, the result is a bizarre cinematic experience that left us genuinely baffled. The film’s confusing plot, erratic character motivations, and wildly inconsistent performances (ranging from wacky to poor) make for an interesting watch to say the least. Much of our podcast is spent trying to make sense of what Coppola is aiming for. Though we do find some entertainment in its oddball humour and surreal interactions in moments. I guess it's fair to summarise the film as a head scratching spectacle that has to be seen to be believed.
