Released in the very special year of 2001, Donnie Darko (which initially bombed) has found new life as a cult-classic and gained many new fans in the past twenty years. So what is the story actually about? Jake Gyllenhaal and Seth Rogen had no idea. But I guess you follow Donnie, a troubled, awkward, and mysteriously powerful teenager, in the lead up to what the film presents as the end of the world. Saying what that is would be a spoiler. Luckily though, it's pretty hard to spoil unless you have mates or video essays explain it to you. Regardless, wacky characters and entertaining scenes make for a fun watch.
