Shannon O'Brien, Founder of Whole U. and Ernie have an enlightening conversation about her process for defining your skills, and what you truly want from a career - (which is the foundation of building a great resume and social presence!)
Shannon founded Whole U. Career & Life Strategy in 2012, after working 7 years at Harvard and MIT, where she advised both graduate and undergraduate students. Previous to working in Higher Education, Shannon earned two Master's degrees: An M.A. as a Rotary World Peace Fellow in Tokyo, Japan; and an Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation & Education from Harvard University.
Before finding career alignment as an entrepreneur, Shannon was laid off from her job in 2008. It took a year and a half to secure a new job...sending countless job applications, preparing for interviews, and networking relentlessly. Shannon now helps clients bypass the job search frustrations she experienced herself, in order to find the clarity, confidence, and connections to pursue their life's work and live a balanced, purposeful life.
As a top-ranked career/life coach, she is truly invested in the growth and success of Whole U. students. Her acclaimed career programs have helped career seekers of all industries, from over 25 countries. Born in the U.S., she grew up 10 years in Europe and has traveled to 36 countries (including 6 countries in the Middle East, which was the regional focus for her graduate studies). Shannon continues to open her mind to new people, cultures - and most importantly: What is inherent in each of us.
