I knew DC could pull itself out of its cinematic rut, and based on early reactions from screenings, James Wan's Aquaman - not long ago a punchline - is the movie that will give the DC Extended Universe a much-needed rebirth!
Also, critics are falling over themselves to praise the story, animation and voice acting in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Guardian in particular is quite, let's say, colorful in their recommendation.
As a non-partisan fan who has been rooting for both franchises, I couldn't be happier - unless some studio exec decides to send me to some screeners, so I can review them on this podcast. There, that was nice and subtle, right? I should be getting those tickets any day, now.
