I’ve seen Captain Marvel, and I have some thoughts - basically that, as expected, it’s a very good movie. Beyond that, I’m going to think carefully before reviewing this movie that many trolls are trashing without cause, and some reviewers are tripping over themselves in an effort to please the bigwigs at Disney. There is a sane, happy medium to be had, and I’m determined to deliver it. Give me the weekend. In the meantime, I can confidently say that I recommend it very highly - so go see it!
Also, sadly, Jussie Smollett is back in the headlines, as a Chicago grand jury has indicted him on 16 felony charges, for lying to police and falsely reporting a potential hate crime. This, in addition to the federal charges that he was already facing. I wish I knew what he was thinking, but I think this is really about mental illness. I hope that justice is served, but I also hope that Smollett gets the help that he seems to need.
