I had bit of rant on Friday’s episode - https://www.spreaker.com/user/7228931/episode-108-captain-marvel-speculation - against the weaponizing of Rotten Tomatoes against Captain Marvel. The film was being flooded with negative reviews, which is absurd because none of the reviewers had seen the film - they can’t, it’s not out yet! So, Rotten Tomatoes, by allowing this hate campaign - or, for that matter, accepting positive reviews - RT was not only allowing trolls to sabotage a major motion picture, but destroying their own credibility as a legitimate review site.
Clearly my rant - and perhaps an angry phone call or two from Kevin Feige - had an impact, as yesterday Rotten Tomatoes purged the false reviews, and established some changes that will hopefully block trolls from the platform entirely.
