Christology is the systematic doctrine or teaching concerning the Person of Jesus Christ. There are several sub-topics that fall under this branch of theology (i.e. pre-existence, eternality, OT prophecies, incarnation, divinity, humanity, death, resurrection, etc.). Almost from the beginning of the Church-age, a fierce debate began about the Person of Jesus Christ. In fact, the person of Jesus Christ is an essential element of what we (Church) believe to be the gospel of Jesus Christ. Scripture itself confirms this position through the writings of both the Pauline and general epistles.
