November 2022 is the 25th anniversary of Bret Hart’s final match in the WWF at Survivor Series 1997, but the final year of Bret Hart’s WWF career should not be reduced to one match. Bret Hart was a key player in one of the most important years in wrestling history.
In The Hitman’s Last Great Year, we’ll journey from Survivor Series 1996 to Survivor Series 1997, with each episode of the podcast covering an episode of television, or a PPV. We’ll cover the Hart Foundation, but we’ll also see Stone Cold Steve Austin go from hot new star to an industry-shaking gamechanger, and we’ll watch Shawn Michaels lose his smile, find it again, and come out on top. Ultimately, we’ll see the very beginnings of what has come to be known as the Attitude Era.
