Procure feedback on your songs from everyone on your team, your family, and peers or mentors you might have. It's vital the feedback comes prior to anything be completed or a stage where the feedback cannot be applied.
Inspiration:
If you have an idea worth writing a song about, you have an idea worth writing 100 songs about. Don't stop working an idea until you've written it from every perspective possible. This idea could become the muse that sustains your entire career.
