This realization, and paradigm shift forced Melissa to look for alternative professions that would ensure she never ended up feeling like she couldn't provide sufficiently for her family again.
Through massive amounts of self-education and discipline Melissa learned about real estate investing and the world of opportunities it opened as an entrepreneur. While waiting for her clients in the LA County Detention Centers Melissa listened to endless Podcasts (like Bigger Pockets), read books and soaked up as much information as she could about real estate. Eventually when she felt she had enough knowledge she took the plunge and bought her first multi-family complex. Boom, she was hooked and saw the life-changing opportunities and freedom that becoming an real estate broker and investor provided. Social Worker to Entrepreneur and she hasn't looked back since, opening her own Real Estate firm and building a massive portfolio in Portland.
