Andrew Magnus (Alexis Arquette) is a pathetic artist mooching off of their mother Genna Magnus (Margot Kidder), who in turn is mooching off of her brother and Andrew’s uncle, Alfred (Alvin Epstein). In a last ditch hail mary to get accepted to an art school in Africa, the only school left that they could be bothered to apply to or that hasn’t already rejected them, Andrew uses pictures of a man that both Genna and Alfred loved but who was lost in the war, to paint what they hope will be their masterpiece. They say you should never meet your heroes, I suppose then it’s a good thing Andrew Never Met Picasso.
