There are several things people still believe about buying a home that just aren't true. #ExperienceTheAaronAdvantage
1. 20% Down Payment - Different loan products can work with different down payments. Just depends.
2. Perfect Credit Needed - Not true. Good credit is a great thing, but, there are still products that will work with non perfect credit.
3. It's Not a Good Time to Buy - This depends on the market at the time you are looking to buy. Sometimes it's great, other times it might be slower. Interest rates right now are fantastic, so it's a great time at the moment to buy a home!
4. You Should Buy at Your Max Pre-Approval Amount - When you are pre-approved, the lender doesn't know your every detail about all of your expenses, but you do. So, you may get a higher pre-approval amount that might be too much for your particular budget.
5. It's Cheaper to Buy a Fixer Upper - This also depends. It can be more costly if the "fixing up" are expensive items that need attention.
6. You Shouldn't Settle for Less Than Your Dream Home - You may miss out on some great homes just because it doesn't check every single box. There are no perfect homes, and you may not be in that home forever anyway. Be open to what there is in the market in your price range.
7. You Don't Need a Real Estate Agent - There is a lot of information on the internet, however, you still need someone to help you with all the paperwork and details to help your transaction to go as smoothly as possible. If you don't know all the documentation and steps it takes to buy/sell a home, it's better to get the help of an expert.
