Description

Do you ever feel a little down and find that you struggle to get a good sleep? And vice versa, do you ever have a poor night’s sleep and find that you really just can’t shake those blues away? You might be moodier, feeling down or more anxious than usual. It's a vicious cycle, and it's very real. There is a real psychological link between our sleep and our mood. In this episode of Sleep By Shea, Shea is joined by Peter Hayton, psychologist and clinical director of The Banyans. The Banyans is a private, residential rehabilitation retreat located in southeast Queensland, delivering a medically-oriented program of research-based therapies to individuals struggling with a range of mental health or dependency illnesses. With over 2 decades as a practising psychologist behind him, Peter is here to share his experience and knowledge about the sleep and mental health link. Peter and Shea chat about some common questions he is asked by patients when it comes to sleep, and insights into how we can improve both our sleep and mental health in one go.
