Trump Executive order on discrimination against Jews on 12/18/2019
Jews are both a race) a nationality and a religion.
The Federal Department of Education can now withhold funding for someone they believe are discriminating against Jews using Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. DE can act on discrimination based on race, color or national origin but not on religion. Hence, Jews can now refer to race.
Why now? Because of BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanction movement against Israel for their treatment of Palestinians. Now appearing on some college campuses across the U.S.
Palestinian-led campaign promoting various forms of boycott against Israel until it meets what the campaign describes as Israel's obligations under international law, defined as withdrawal from the occupied territories, removal of the separation barrier in the West Bank, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and "respecting, protecting, and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties".
Trump’s history:
I. Pro-white nationalist. Just short of being a KKK supporter.
2. Jews solicited for $ for campaign
3. Moved Headquarters for U.S Embassy to Jerusalem
4. Trump ignores settlements on land agreed to below to the Palestinians.
5. Iran: withdraw from agreement and sanctions.
Apartheid against Palestinians is probably beyond Trump’s transactional morals.
Restriction of freedom of speech on campus?
Use to stifle support for the Palestinians?
