Drug Dystopia, Drug Dystopia
War on drugs
War on people
Who use drugs.
Screwing up your life
When you could just say no
It's not so much a choice
BUT AN ADDICTION
Where the drug eases the suffering
At least for a bit.
What's an addiction
But an excuse to be weak
Most of us humans
Even you,
Are imperfect
And need your compassion
If not your love.
Drugs kill
Addicts Always want more
Causes overdoses
Worthless lives
And death in the gutter.
Most overdoses
Rehab breakdown
Humans Not yet saved
Overdoses come
Come from relapses
In triggered moments traumas relived
Overdoses from corrupted drugs
Diluted with Fentanyl
100 times stronger than heroin
Drugs fill our prisons
Ignorant laws without understanding or compassion
Fill our prisons.
On tv, Sopranos Tony, the gangster with blood on his hands,
Berates his cousin for using drugs
And America cheers.
In West Virginia, jobs go away and people stumble
Running to drugs to ease the pain
And the caring increase the police and expand the prisons
And Trump’s trama echos in unison with theirs.
