Michael Menzies is a reporter and editor for Lakeland Connect in Bonnyville, Alberta and the play by play voice of the Bonnyville Junior A Pontiacs hockey team. He graduated from NAIT’s Radio and TV Program in Edmonton in 2018 and jumped right into news media, as a journalist and reporter in rural Alberta. Only 2 years into his career, COVID hit, causing major setbacks to his organization. Michael struggled to keep sane while reporting on COVID updates, navigating hate from all sides and trying to uphold truth. This struggle lead him to step away from his career, a move he thought at the time would be permanent.
