This past November, Judge Gerald Parker ran for and was elected to the Montgomery Common Pleas Court Bench, General Division. Montgomery County is the fifth largest county in Ohio, so it was quite a win for a man not yet forty years old, but especially impressive considering that Gerald is the first African-American male judge ever elected to the division.
Winning elections doesn’t make a man a superhero. But, having the courage to break new ground for a greater good does. Living an ethical life, a life that gives time and energy to the urban youth in the community over which you magistrate makes you a hero. Truly, Gerald Parker’s passion for finding better ways to rehabilitate and help those that are going through the toughest times in their lives is encouraging and inspiring.
So excited for you to hear this interview with the Honorable E. Gerald Parker, one of your fellow Daytonians who is taking action each and every day to make our town and its people better than ever. And if you’ve ever wanted to know what the inside of a judge’s chambers looks like, we’re sharing all the behind the scenes details too.
