I was once told I look like 12 and that I needed to serve the years and prove my ‘worth’. That could have defeated me but it didn’t.
I spent the last decade leading and managing cross-border teams in the corporate world. Having consistently ranked as the top performer, I was fast-tracked to senior positions in multiple global multinational companies whilst only in my 20's.
In my last role, I was the Senior Director and Head of Governance at Standard Chartered Bank where I established the business governance framework and implemented industry-leading initiatives across the bank’s global footprint. As a culture enthusiast, I have travelled to 37 countries and counting, both personally and professionally.
I get asked this question a lot - How did I progress in my career so quickly?
There is no big secret - Developing high emotional intelligence and mastering soft skills really helped me to understand people dynamics and effectively navigate challenges in a complex and dynamic workplace.
