July is National Anti-Boredom Month beginning in the late 1980s when Alan Carina sought to help people understand the effects of Boredom & How to combat it.
Today on Mental Health Monday Dr. Sabrina will help us
Boredom is more than just not having something to do.
It involves being unsatisfied by an activity, uninterested, or not challenged.
When we feel bored we may:
Feel empty
Fatigue
Jittery
Frustrated
Depression
Sleep disturbance
We must combat it with V.I.G.O.R.
Volunteer to help the community
Initiate a hobby, workout routine, or join a club
Get enough sleep and rest
Open lines of communication with friends/family
Read a book or magazine or journal
