Having a conversation can resemble running a race. The only problem is that we each seem to have erected invisible hurdles on the track that the other racers don't know about. As we communicate, each of us tumble to the ground as we run into these hurdles, stunned at our lack of progress in the conversation! Could it be that as we talk, neither of us know that we are erecting hurdles or walls in front of each other?
