Today, Bishop Rodgers teaches from Luke 10:38-42 about "Kingdom Priorities." This can be illustrated from the story of Mary and Martha, Worship versus Service. Martha was distracted by all the preparations for Jesus and His disciples. While, Mary was focused on learning - listening intently to the Word of God through the lips of Jesus. Our personalities and gifts are different, but that doesn't mean we have to be either a worker or worshipper. There must be a balance. We can equate Martha as a Type A personality and Mary as a Type B personality. We must never forget "What we do with Christ is far more important than what we do for Christ." Here are some better ways to handle the situations that may arise between worker vs. worshipper. First, never assure your own greatness. Second, support others in their special roles.
