Season 1, Episode 18

The Ephemeros podcast - The word derives from the Greek ephemeros, meaning "lasting only one day, short-lived".

Season 1, Episode 18

Today, we meet Michaela Sorrentino. But first please forgive the horrible audio captured through Skype between Canada and Germany, but really... that's pretty cool to begin with. Our discussion starts like most - spontaneous and never stays on the surface. This is a long winded one but fascinating for those on the fringe.... Our conversation wanders from the world of programming, artificial intelligence and to the esoteric roles entangled within it all. Fringe... I hope you enjoy!

Here is Michaela:

"Wow.  Who am I you ask? The current quote written in a blue Sharpie marker on my mirror reminds me daily of who I am: " I am the Captain of my Soul and the Master of my Destiny. Nothing and no one will ruin this day for me" - Pastor RC Blakes -

Personally? I am a passionately driven self inquiring wonder junkie seeking to explore what life has to offer. What's important (for me) beyond the basics is authenticity. Being connected to the world I inhabit runs more than skin deep.

On a professional note:

Michaela Sorrentino is a first generation Canadian born in Toronto, Ontario in 1966 to parents of European descent.  She currently lives in Germany with her children.

Transformation is my passion. Bringing simplification and structure to education is my signature strength. Collaborating with children to support them through change by breaking things down into simple, and executable steps is my approach to helping kids learn with consistent growth and results.

Michaela is a born philosopher and visionary. As a dedicated advocate for all things educational, she places great value on authentic, intelligent methods of learning that are holistic, success oriented and preferably hands on. To her, education is a basic human right. She believes in the power of self-inquiry and individuation as opposed to current standard institutionalized and corporate practices of indoctrination. For her, success is measured and achieved through self-awareness. She believes, the emancipation of humanity will only be found in authentic educational practices of learning and inquiry. We exist to evolve.

Sami Asaker and Michaela Sorrentino are the founders and owners of Project Gnosis: Tech Ed Development Centre. They are passionate about the digital transformation of education in the 21st century, and closing the gap between learned skill sets and tech development.
