The Blackout ICT Awards has stirred up quite a bit of emotion in the Wichita community. Some not so good but, overwhelmingly positive! Paris, Ashley, Julia and Erin have done something very few other organizations (aside from Urban Professionals of Wichita) in the community are doing and that’s highlighting black creatives, black entrepreneurs and black leaders in an upscale and classy way. Each of the members of the team are cosmetologists themselves and instead of seeking to be praised and recognized themselves they opted to put the spotlight on members of the community. On a personal note, winning this award exposed my Imposter Syndrome. Not only was I not expecting to win I had convinced myself prior to the event that I wasn’t capable or deserving of winning. Oh how wrong I was about myself!! Sooooo to close out this amazing long ass season of Queen X it’s time for another giveaway!
