Grief is no stranger to Christians. And yet, in our collective sorrow, we have hope. How can this be? As Christ followers, we believe not only in Christ's resurrection but also in a future glory that was glimpsed during Jesus' transfiguration, and we get to dive into this passage from Luke 9. As part of our series in "Lent: Encountering Jesus," it gathers momentum as we near Easter Sunday, but it will especially encourage our weary hearts. As CS Lewis once said, "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."
