In this episode, Shannon chats with Tami Burdick about her journey of listening to her heartsong to share her story of self-advocacy and writing a book that is changing the lives of many women.
Tami's book, Diagnosis Detective: Curing Granulomatous Mastitis is a: "memoir is about how one woman was cured of a chronic inflammatory breast disease known as Granulomatous Mastitis, by her own advocacy, independent extensive research, due diligence, and discovering a pathology test which finally led to a cause to her disease. The author shares her private details of her own year-and-a-half journey and obstacles she endured to finally reach remission by curing her disease. Other women also share their unique experiences with battling the various types of the same traumatic disease."
Shannon and Tami discuss how important it is to take charge of your health and how your health affects all aspects of our lives, and how we all need to be advocates of our own health. Tami’s journey led her to take advantage of some down time during the pandemic to share her story that would ultimately help others with learning about how to self-advocate for themselves, research, and share with their doctors when faced with a health situation. Now she is living her purpose and sharing her story, following her passion and heartsong as an author and speaker.
