Description

When it comes to discovering new heights, Fran Gonzalez knows more about it than most. A teacher by trade, Francisca worked for several years as a school principal before resigning to pursue her passion for ultra-distance running. Having now run over 50 races in 19 different countries, Fran realised that there were almost no women training or running in the hills. After leaving her scholastic career at 50, Fran launched Mujeres al Cerro (Women on the Hill) – the first female-only trekking group in Chile. Not only a fast-moving ultrarunner, but the multi-faceted Fran is also a brand influencer, life coach, wife, mother of 5, and grandmother of 8. As she helpsother women navigate the mental, physical, and emotional changes of menopause, Fran’s journey is the epitome of her favourite saying: “You’re never too old and it’s never too late to find and follow your passion.” In this episode, Fran talks about her childhood, solo travel, the importance of being the “owner of your time”.
