Born into an Indian family where culture has always been paramount, lyrics runs in Rachana Yadav’s veins. The daughter of Smt Mannu Bhandari and Shri Rajendra Yadav – two of the most eminent names in the world of Hindi literature – Rachana discovered a keen interest in art and culture as a child. To this day, that passion has never waned. A firm believer in the idea that culture is one of the strongest pillars of society, Rachana has dedicated her life to promoting the richness and beauty of Indian culture through classical dance and literature. A trained Kathak dancer, Rachana has performed in several of the major dance festivals in India and teaches this beautiful art form to her students at her dance institute, ‘The Rachana Yadav Kathak Studio’ in New Delhi. Not only that, Rachana is also the Publisher and Managing Director of HANS – the largest Hindi literary magazine in India. Far from a mere magazine, HANS is an iconic institution that defines trends in the field of Hindi literature. Using her classical dance training and literary background, Rachana’s mission to spread poetry through movement is far from over. In this episode, Rachana talks about her previous career in advertising, taking up dance, and the importance of following your passion.
