Since taking art lessons as a young girl, my art teachers always stressed the importance of looking at my artwork from a few steps back every now and then.
Taking a step back has always helped me appreciate my progress, and gain clarity/direction.
I've talked about the importance of creative habits & hobbies in the podcast episode "The Power of Creative Outlets" with Angel Roman.
A benefit of artistic hobbies that I haven't talked about, however, is their hidden lessons—those that apply to life outside of art.
The word "perspective" has two definitions on Google:
1. "the art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point"
2. "a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view."
