Description

We are honored to welcome Johanna Ruxton MBE as our guest speaker. After graduating from London University studying marine science, Jo started the first marine programme for WWF in Hong Kong, where she raised her family, and was a key advocate for the establishment of the first marine parks there. After returning to live in the UK she started working for the BBC's Blue Planet. Disappointed with the lack of conservation messages in BBC films, she left in 2008 to work independently to produce the multi-award-winning documentary, A Plastic Ocean and founded the charity, Ocean Generation. Jo was awarded an MBE in the 2022 New Year's Honours for Services to Marine Conservation.

A huge thank you to Kathleen Russell for introducing us to Jo <3
