Narayan Rao is a numbers obsessed savant who dreams of running his own bank someday.However, his hubris leads to him becoming an object of mockery in front of his entire village.Moving to Bombay for a fresh start in 1987 after clearing the bank exams, He rises through the ranks until he is promoted to Treasurer at the SBI in 1991. Finally relieved at being able to settle into the humdrum of a regular life with his wife Shriya moving in soon after, the unsuspecting Narayana Rao will soon find himself standing in the midst of a tumultuous ball game.Following the events after Rahul Gandhi’s assassination in May 1991, Narayana Rao is put in charge of an extremely intricate diplomatic transaction - overseeing the transport of 75 tonnes of gold overseas under the looming threat of smugglers with their eyes on the consignment.As an intricate game of cat and mouse plays out against the backdrop of a global crisis, would Narayana Rao be able to withstand the challenges presented to an ordinary man like him?
