In love a throne to Christ was promised
That all nations him should serve
That praise should rise to God’s begotten
For redemption undeserved
Every shadow under Moses
Celebration, sacrifice
Pointed to a future coming
God himself in form of Christ

In love a throne Christ left behind him
Word of God took on our flesh
From his youth increased in wisdom
To reveal God’s truth suppressed
In the true propitiation
Jesus died as sinners should
Yet his soul was not abandoned
God has raised him for our good

On a recreated earth
Christ will banish Death to hell’s abyss
And be crowned with utmost worth
