The Mistress Files: Dirty Diana!
Breathing heavily, Diana slumped down behind a row of dumpsters, just missing two of the police officers who were looking for her. Lights and sirens pierced the cold, December sky, awakening the dark and secluded Hamlin. A town which barely had any action and when it did, it was nowhere near what they were experiencing on this night. They were used to having emergencies such as cats stuck in a tree or little old ladies in need of help after a fall. Dead bodies, bloody messes, and love triangles were never a part of the Hamlin County sheriff’s department’s agenda., until now.
She vigorously rubbed her blood-soaked hands on her sweater, desperate to clear some of the gory details of her diabolical deed that was done moments ago. All she had to do was give him up! She yelled internally. Her mind replayed visions of Jennifer’s lifeless body, lying in the living room, and her ears reproduced the baby’s wails, stuck in her crib. She closed her eyes tight and grabbed her chest, hoping to stop the excruciating pain that clung on to her, feeling more like somebody set off an explosion of fireworks rather than the harsh pulsating of her heart beating wildly.
