Message: It's prophesied a king would come to do battle for his nation tangled in the depravity of sin. As Jesus entered the city, garments and branches are laid down, signifying those who lose their lives to save it, putting off of the old self to put on Christ's righteousness, the garment of salvation. Together the crowd responds to hearing and receiving the gospel with Hosanna (Come Lord save us now). King Jesus had arrived.
Scripture: Mark 11:7-10 "And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest."
