Message: How did Jesus get to the point of following when His own hometown rejected Him? In the process of doing what God asked Him to do; He fulfilled His ministry as the Light, blessing people with the Word of God, healing, signs and wonders. The called "the chosen" followed Him, starting with His 12 disciples. In particular Matthew "Levi" left his past, rose and began to follow Jesus. It was courageous to endure certain persecution, which is not a natural task, but a spiritual decision. When Matthew made the decision, Jesus reminded the religious leaders He was not here for the perfectly righteous who had no need, but for the sick who need a Savior. We are called back to Genesis to be [spiritually] fruitful and multiply by following Him as fishers of men.
Scripture: Luke 5:27-28 "After these things He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he left all, rose up, and followed Him. Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them." NKJV
