Description

When my child was hurting emotionally, I felt helpless to relieve either her suffering or mine. Feeling overwhelmed and confused, I desperately wished for crisis tools to bring immediate relief, while we also worked to resolve the root issues.

This podcast is for you, if you:

· feel engulfed with the present emotional needs and demands of your child

· require resources to remedy previous emotionally-damaging incidents or situations experienced by your child

· desire healthy attachment and closer communication with your child

· want to foster confidence, emotional resilience, and a growth mindset in your child

· yearn to improve your parenting skills and restore balance to your life

If you are seeking emotional first aid tools you can use, whether in crisis or everyday parenting, I will hold your hand and show you how to find help, hope, and happiness again.

Courage doesn’t always come from within. Sometimes courage comes from the support we feel from others.

One of my favorite YouTube videos shows a bus stop in Montreal, Canada, outfitted with heaters which can only be powered by human connection. Part of an advertising campaign for Duracell, a banner reads:  “In Canada, we have cold winters, but we also have each other” (Duracell  Canada Moments of Warmth surprise bus shelter, 2015).

By placing palms against sensors on opposite walls and then holding hands, two or more people can create a human chain to complete the circuit. This triggers heat from the vents in the shelter’s ceiling.

Working together, we can make  an unbearable situation bearable.
