Colonel John W. Spencer is a retired United States Army officer, researcher, teacher of urban warfare, and esteemed author. 

John's visit to Ukraine served as inspiration, among other things, for his article: ‘The Untold Story of the Ukrainian Helicopter Rescue Missions During the Mariupol Siege’. We were lucky and privileged to welcome John to Mriya Report, where he told us the whole story.
