Since we are called to be light to the world, it is important to obey God’s Word. His authoritative Word exposes sin in our lives and expresses our need for a savior. Jesus perfectly obeyed the Word of God, becoming the fulfillment of God’s Law. Our focus should be obedience to the Word because we love God and want to love others, which is the intent of God’s Law. True blessing comes as we align ourselves with the Word. When we fall short, we rely on Christ’s righteousness to cover our sin and grant us His righteousness.
