At the age of 5 Erika’s family fled Berlin Germany to escape the Nazis. Erika’s family were granted refugee status in the Philippines with a stroke of a pen from then President Manuel Quezon. Erika recalls stories of growing up in Manila during WWII, finding the love of her life, starting a family and her journey to helping refugees settle in Australia.
