Description

In this week’s episode of Twisted Talks we take a look at the case of Georgia Tann.

Georgia was born as Beulah George Tann in 1891 in Hickory, Mississippi, her father George was a district judge, her mother Beulah was a schoolteacher and her brother Roy would go on to enlist in the Army.

Georgia became a social worker and started the Shelby Co Chapter of the Tennessee Children’s Home Society. 5000 children would be adopted out of the Society as it became known and from an outsider’s perspective Georgia’s efforts seemed wholesome, but the truth was far more sinister.

Georgia Tann was far less wholesome than she made herself out to be, if you want to hear the full story (and a tangent about Jeanette McCurdy), make sure to listen.
